Apr 20

This date has always been very close to my heart. Not because its Hitler's birthday but because it's my besties birthday. Happy Birthday Surbhi! Thanks for being my side when I grew up. Thanks for being my companion when I use to eat my dabba in school. Thanks for always being the second ranker and being my motivation to move ahead of you :D Although we are thousands of miles away I wish you many many happy returns of the day. Although we dont speak with each other very often but you are the password of my security question on many of my online accounts :) We have shared our childhood together and I wish I can go back in time even if it is for a few minutes. I want to relive those moments with you again and feel them again. We have been catching up at-least once every year when I visit India but this year you broke that commitment as well. You were not present on my BIG day. But, I know you must be having your own commitments because of which you couldn't make it. I am not upset on you but would always like to be with you through the thick and thin.

Today I miss you so much that I decided to write a few lines on my blog. By the way I have just started :) This is my second post :D Its not that I need anything to write today but I miss you so much today that I wanted to write a letter to you. So, I thought might as well write it here and add value/memory to my blog. Someone has said "Its not called done until it is not documented". So thought of capturing my thoughts on my blog.

Wish you a very very happy birthday and love you and miss you loads! May al your dreams come true and may this be your last birthday as a bachelorette.

Cheers to our friendship!

Banana Sheera

So, here I go with the first post of two-oh-fourteen! Sharing a recipe that is best suitable for beingdhriti as this is one of the best recipes I have learnt after marriage :)

Take some (3-4 tbl spns) ghee in a pan and let it heat for 2 mins. Add 2-3 grounded cardamom (elaichi) in it. After a min add some grounded dry fruits like almonds and cashews. Let it heat for 2 mins.
Add some sooji in it and keep stiring continuously for 3-4 mins till it turns light brown. Chop a banana and add it in the pan and stir it till it gets caramelized.  Microwave a cup of milk and add it to the pan. Sooji absorbs the liquid and swells up. Keep stirring to avoid lumps. Add sugar to the pan and make sure to keep stirring so that it doesn’t form lumps. Add crushed saffron in it. Cook the sheera for 2-3 mins on low flame.
